Higher Trails Ranch is a place where horses and humans interact in an environment of peace and acceptance. With 90 acres of land, an arena, barn, Quonset, stable, round pen and a fresh water stream, there isn't much more you could ask for.
Nestled in the beautiful Alberta Foothills, surrounded by mountains, trees and fresh air, Higher Trails is a special place to be.
Ross and Dee MacInnes own Higher Trails. They have many years of experience helping both youth and adults discover their full potential. Ross has a background in police work, while Dee spent many years in human resource. Their Christian faith is the cornerstone of all they do.
Besides managing their ranch, Ross and Dee teach Equine Assisted Learning through EAL Canada. EAL Canada teaches others with a love of horses to use their passion for horses to help others change their lives.
Heather MacInnes Davis is the Executive Director of EquiHealth Canada and Equi First Aid USA. Both organizations are dedicated to the health of the horse. Higher Trails is their home ranch.
Volunteers make the difference in any organization something Higher Trails believe in very strongly. We are pleased to have a strong volunteer core many of whom have been with us for over 10 years. We are blessed to have member riders who also volunteer their time. This group of volunteers help in so many ways: moving, building, vet days, painting, clearing trails, giving attention to our old horses and so much more. We are forever thankful for all they do.
